    Actually, they're convenient, when they
    work! :-)

My drivers side finally gave up when it was
halfway down. The motor is still fine but
something has come loose... A gear? I'm
tearing into it tonight with the aide of a
Haynes manual. Any suggestions? How do I
emergency release the window so that it's
out of the way (ie: manually pull it up?)

Mine did the exact same thing. When you pull it apart, you will find a few of those white rollers in the bottom of the door, I have been manually pushing it up and down for a couple months now. LMC wants 149.00 for the regulator,, I think Year One has them for 125.00

LOL!!!![IMG] Why do you think mine is still broke?!?!?! The window stays anywhere I put it, but I might have to fix it soon so I can sell it when I get my 78 done.

    >> BTW rem7600,, what caliber are you?

If you're talking rifle... That would be '06
if you're talking type of person... High
    If you're talking K5... '89 350

NOW, here's the scoop. I dug everything apart and the
large gear which drives the scissors is actually
slipping on the motor gear or vice versa like one of them
is stripped but ALMOST grabbing. When you talk of the
regulator, what exactly does that piece/part look like.
I've got the window UP anyway... But without AC (need
compressor for rebuilt system) It AIN'T gonna stay this
way. I've gotta fix SUMPIN' and soon, summers on it's
    way!

    Hoping for an answer soon!

Does it include the gear though? The BIG flat one...

Thanx for the quick answer. As you can tell I'm hoping not to have to replace everything...

Yeah,, the one connected to the square metal piece,, the half moon looking one, Yep sure does.
But even LMC doesn't show one for anything above an 87,, yours must be different.

    Who's LMC?

I think we're talking the same thing here... I didn't have any white spacers or washers down in the door though. I'll call my dealer tomorrow. The wife's gonna love this....

Thanks for the info... Over and out!

Dude,,, I LOVE Coeur d'Alene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to HS in Thompson Falls, MT,,, skiied Schweitzer All the Time.
Skiing is the only thing Sandpoint has over C d'A.
I'm in KC Missouri right now,, heading back to Alaska in a couple months with a stop off at my Mom's in T Falls.
( 1/2 way point) My Dad and I are going to build a rear bumper with swing away tire carrier and jerry can holders when I get there.
I took a digital pic and then after you click continue with the check mark in the box that says " I want to preview my post and/or attach a file." Then you put the file name in the box and hit continue.

No 89-91 are the same as any other years....still a pain in the @ss. I replaced my drivers side motor last fall. The difference in the motors was that the old one had a part(can't remember what) rivited to it...I had to drill it out of the old motor and find a tiny screw to put that part back on the new motor. The problem i keep running into is that little screw over time becomes loose and allows the gears to slip.....thus the window doesn't want to go up or down...anyway that's my window horror story...good luck.

Thanx for the drawing... I had obviously
overlooked it in the book. It's out in the truck
now but I'm sure the pic is there. The attached shows
where the grind is coming from on mine. Mich Blazer it
"sounds" like your problem, pun intended! Which piece
is it that I will need, motor or regulator? I'm guessing
I'll have to take the stupid thing OUT to find out???

It could just be time for a quick clean and regrease job. You have to take it out thoug. Not a biggy, just take your time and get some help holding the window upp while you jiggle the scissors and motor out.
It will start to grind and slipp when the scissors get junked upp enough. All rainwater and road-dust that goes through these doors and old grease combined with additonal easyfix spraying does so it gets pretty sticky after a while.
Mine worked like they where new after I did mine.
    Try if you havent allready.

I was just thinking, if you are saying that your gear is stripped, why not use a mig welder and "build up" the gears. After the welding is done (just small "bumps" with the trigger) use a grinder and shape the teeth.

    It may work.
