Some guy sent in an email asking where he can get a fuel injection setup for a 409 Chevy. They showed him a TBI to multipoint conversion kit for the 454s :haha::doah: Courtney says "this kit should work most big block chevy's up to 450hp", yep, not including the one he asked about!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the 348 / 409 use a different intake then either the Chevrolet SBC and BBC ???

The 402. .030 over 396 now from what I under stand is that GM had a problem with a large # of the 396 castings....Core shift I believe so waht they did was punch them .030 over and sold them as the 402 or the "400 Big block " and were primarily put in 69-70 chevy pickups with "400" badges on the fender

also the 396 is externally the same as a 427,454,502,ect the 348/409 is kind of a bastard engine it was origanally developed as a Industrial engine not very High revving but very good lowend tourqe

402s are actually leftover 396 blocks that were cast, and got a coating of flash rust in the cylinders after sitting. they were given a factory .030" overbore, and released as a different engine.
