What's the difference between one place wanting $438 for a new windshield (installed), and another place only wanting $178 (installed), and another wanting only $193 (installed). Why would the first one be so much more expensive? :dunno:

That was the same thing I found around Houston. Go with the cheapest, thats what I did and have zero problems.

Some will use your insurance to pay for the windshield, you give them a partial payment for your deductable and overcharge the ins. co. for the difference.

You should ask where the glass comes from. You get what you pay for, but over 400 is wayyyyy too much.

The tint makes a difference in price, too.

Same deal. Guy said the antenna was $2 more. :dunno:

No tint specified. At this point, I'm willing to go with Fumes' summation.

Is it break proof? Obviously not crack proof though cause that's what they must have had around for a price like that.

I just called my local glass shop and it would be $203.13. No antenna, tint line at the top.

I have had many wondshields replaced and have never paid more than 200 for any one of them. Most decent installers have a lifetime garuntee against leaking seals after they install the windshield. Go with the cheapest, I had the blazer window replaced with antenae and tint across top and it came to soemthing like 215. Ok so maybe I paid more than 200 but not alot more than that. I have also had many windshields replaced on company vehicles and never had a bill larger than 200 come across.

Just went and got it done this morning for the $170. Old fellow named Morris in the boonies. Fun visit, except for the trying to push Jesus onto me. Has five classic Mustangs in various states of disrepair in his shop, crammed into the corners, and one on a lift above another one. :haha: Trading my old POS 3.8 furd engine for an old school drill press. He wanted the engine, and I was just looking to get rid of it, and he was looking to get rid of the drill press. :dunno: I'll get pics of it Saturday before I scrap it. :D

Yeah, it's big and honkin'. Like rediculously big. I had an epiphany to make it look good and turn it into an electric can opener, but then it dawned on me I'd have to get it upstairs to my house. :yikes: Unless a CK5er wants to pick it up, it'll go for scrap.
