My printer just will not properly print anything. Text or images it doesn't matter. If I try to print out black text, it simply does not appear. If I try a dark blue it comes out as a red, crappy color. Print a picturea nd it comes out all red and purple and streaky. I very rarely use my printer. Last time I used it was probably 3 to 5 months ago. The cartridges are both about 3/4 full(according to the printer software). My only thought is ink dried up or dried up on the printer portions so it won't put it down. Lexmark's troublershooting software is useless.

    Printer is a Lexmark Z600.

Help if you can please guys, I have to print something for class tomorrow.

Sounds like they dried up. Maybe moisten the place where the ink comes out with a damp tissue!

right-click on the icon on your desktop to bring up the printer utilities program for the computer and check the clean cartrage option if it has it.

If the lexmark is set up like that

depending on the type of printer you have you may have seperate carterags for color and black. Your black may have gone bad, dried up, but good luck.

black just won't come back, now it is saying black is low on ink. Oh well, color cartridge seems fine

If you're not worried about the cartridge for black, here's a trick you can try:

    1. dampen a paper towel and place it in the bottom of a disposable cup
    2. place the cartridge with the "nozzle" pushed a little into the paper towel and let it sit overnight
    3. put it back in and try to print black

I've only tried it once, and it seemed to work, except the cartridge ended up being incompatible with the printer I was using anyway...

    I know your problem -
They suck. I have two and I think they will look good under my 38.5's

    mine sux too

I bought a 50 dollar HP printer when I got the HP Pavilion computer I had before this one..it printed about 50 pages, then the cartridge went dry..go to Wal-Mart and Staples, they want 30-35 bucks just for the cartridges..I ain't paying that much ,when I print things only rarely--it will dry up before I use it up..F*** the printer!..the "scanner" I got does not want to work either--only used it twice..might not be useable with the computer I have now, which is a mongrel based on a Dell, from what I was told...
