I got a 350 in my 75, need to now what year it is so I can get a kit. Dipstick is on the Passenger side, so it must be later than 81 right? I actually think its an old crate moter, says GM-Goodwrench on the valve covers. Also, is there a way to tell if it is a one peice rear without getting into it??? That is 86 and on right?? Thanks guys!

just look up the block casting number and see what year it came out of.the block should be stamped either at the back of the engine under the distributer and behind the right side head or in the front in front of the right side head.

The passenger side dipstick came out in 1980. The 79 and older sbc's were drivers side dipstick. My 350 is from a 1980 one ton van and has the passenger side dipstick.

A reference book that I have shows the dipstick moving to the pass. side for the '78 model year. It says it was to allow for a more compact exhaust manifold design. All my junk is either a lot older or a lot newer, so?
