    very un cool
you should warn us before exsposing us to such traumatic photos
just had mine replaced, and the drive shaft balanced.
ball joints can also be very unpleasant
had a buddy loose one on a trail, and missed going into a 10' deep ditch by about 10'
the girl riding with him asked why he tried to shove the brake pedal through the floor with both feet
    did it damage anthing else?

    It needs a bigger motor.
    what's in it now?
doen't matter it NEEDS A BIGGER MOTOR

That was it - I found several pieces of the U-joint, and it was dry as a bone. Apparently the grease seals were trashed, and it slung every drop of lube out of it. I guess I should be happy that I scored a nice 3/4 ton yoke out of the deal[IMG]

Somehow I got lucky - the only other damage was a tiny little dent in one muffler, and an extremely annoying vibration now.

Nice.. that looks like the slip yoke from my 87 when it blew. But both "hoops" blew completely off the yoke. My dead yoke currently resides on my shelf as a trophy.... it's pretty cool. and makes a geat stand for my foil ball, "Jeb" (don't ask.. I started it in senior year of high school.. it just followed me home at the end of the year [IMG])

I have to agree with that. I think I'm the only one of my friends that bothers to grease my Ujoints on a regular basis. Why not? Its easy, doesn't cost too much and gives you an excuse to get out in the garage.

Man! That sucks! I grease mine when I do an oil change.

I can vouge for the ball joints! I couldn't figure out why there was this bad pop when I went over a bump (this was my first truck so, I was learning). I pulled a loaded horse trailer home which was 500 miles away. I still couldn't figure out what was wrong so I took it to a mechanic freind and he said the ball joints were really bad. So, I had him replace them. Later, I found out that he jacked the truck up and the damn wheel fell off! My good ol' GMC pick'm up had brought me home safe and sound. That could have easily come off and the truck and trailer would have rolled. Nasty!

    I've got a mind like a . . . a . . . what's that thing called?

That I do! It didn't dig in and roll, it didn't really tear anything up, and I was able to find a yoke in the thriving metropolis of Wickenburg, AZ on a Friday afternoon. Major luck this time!

Reminds me of a Dodge Pickup I saw this spring parked on the side of the road. His driveshaft dropped then did the pole vault thing and was sticking up through the wooden flat bed. To add insult to injury, it took out the fuel lines along the way. Poor bastard.

BillyBob and his magic foilball Jeb.... LMAO.

Why do people keep calling it a Bronco!!!!! [IMG]
