I am pulling my 700r4 outta my 84 k5. Any tips or advice? DO I have to remove the crossover pipe for the exhaust? Any other ideas? Thanks

I did mine on a lift with a trans jack. I did not have to remove the exhaust. If you don't have access to a lift make sure you have a tall enough jack with some sort of trans adapter for it. We clamped to the crossmember which made it easier but I think the adapters usually go under the trans pan. If that is the case you might have to remove the crossover pipe.

usually if you have a crossover pipe, you have to remove it. You can try to floss and fly that baby in and out arround the crossmember, but it would probably make everything a lot easier if you just dropped the crossover.
