    To start with I already made a trip to the parts store and searched the internet for info.

    I cannot find the exact information on a Q-Jet I recently aquired. I tried looking up the number and using the identification guide to decifer the number and cannot come up with all the info.

    The number on it is: 17058471. The 17058 portion seems to indicate 1978 as the year, the 4 indicates that it is a 2bbl which it is not, 7 indicates Pontiac, 1 manual trans. This does not help me very much so far.

    I want to rebuild it and use it on my truck, but the number is not found in the parts store books, leaving me without a rebuild kit. Any ideas?

    Try calling Northern Autoparts;
    I have had some oddball Q-Jets that they have been able to get me kits for, and their prices are great /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.
