ok i know on the edelbrocks you turn the 2 screws in all the way then back them out 1 and a half turns and you are close but what about a true quadrajet? do you turn them out 1 and a half turns as well to be close?

I used to start be turning them out 4 turns. Then I would screw them in untill the rpm's started to drop, then back them out a hair. It seemed to work for me. Its only the idle circuit anyway.

You should have 2-3 turns average but it depends on the tune of the engine. if you have a performance cam you'll prolly have to drill out the idle orafices to .095 (5/32 close nuff) before you can get it to idle correctly. Be warned you can forget about passing emissions test if you do this... i never had to worry about that stuff /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif
