I have a '83 Chevrolet K-5 blazer with a 6.2. I want to replace with the original starter with a the lighter (I mean a whole lot lighter) 28MT. Will the 28MT work with the '83 block, I was told it would not by a guy at a Starter Rebuild place. He said then again, he wasn't sure.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I also se the ones on EBAY? Are they trustworthy?

    Thanks in advance.

    I put a starter from a 97 Savana (6.5TD) into my 84 Burb (6.2NA). So there. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Just so your ready, the rear support bracket is different. You'll either have to "customize" the existing one or buy one for the 28MT. Worth every bit though, I just did it on my '84 6.2 /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
