AZ is great. If you like the outdoors, there are so many different types of landscapes here. From deserts and sand to Rocky Mountains and trees. Southern AZ is hot while northern is cooler. There is a professional team for every league you might like, Football (Which I like because I get to see my Panthers come to town), basketball, baseball, and even hockey. WOW I sound like one of those tourist brochures. Ha-ha. Obviously, I like it here.

Very, very, very, very, very hot for a couple three months. The rest of the year is pretty bearable. Grew up here so I don't know much different.

    Mike,

During my much younger days I once lived in NJ, actually my parents are fron Jersey, Rahway actually. This was many year ago for me.

I have spend quite a bit of my life moving, as my father was an admiral in the Coast Guard.

I can honestly call AZ home. I would not trade it for any other place in the US. Yes it's hot in the summer. The other months of the year, you can't beat it. I'm an outdoors person, and this is the spot.

If you want to come to visit AZ, come on out.

    Rob

Like the other guys said, AZ is very diverse as far as terrain. I love the State of AZ because of that, but I get really sick of Phoenix sometimes. I'm a native, so I've seen it change quite a bit. It's getting expensive to buy a house, but still cheaper than most major cities. It's getting very crowded.
It does get really hot in the summer. It is a dry heat. I've been in the South in the summer, it made me appreciate the dry heat like you wouldn't believe. Just spend a lot of time at one of our lakes and/or rivers and find a swimming pool and you'll be good.

If you are looking at the Phoenix area you better like heat & mexicans because you cant get away from either of them. I am moving back for work reasons but I hope to move more north to get away from some of the heat.

Overall it is not a terrible place but it is not the greatest place. It does have the best wheeling of just about anywhere in the country though which is another reason I am moving back. CO is a nice place but good wheeling was a long way from where I live.

I grew up in California, moved here about 2 years ago. I finally feel like I live where I belong. The trouble is, too many of the psycho, freedom hating, left wingers from Cali seemed to have fled from their own socialist state they created and are now slowly creeping into politics in Arizona. So, if you believe in the constitution and personal liberty, please move here to help overrun the Birkenstock wearing socialist hippies. If you believe the government should fix everyone's personal problems, stay where you are.

    diesel tech

Here's a diesel tech gig for the mass transit company here in the valley. This is who I work for as an Ops. Supervisor. I hate when job postings don't say what the pay is. I can try and find out for you.
Like Pauly said, you should have no problem finding a diesel tech gig out here. If not with a major trucking company than maybe a dealership. It seems everyone is going diesel out here. All these guys buy these huge diesel trucks with 12" lifts and 22" rims and never use the diesel for what it is.

These guys are right!! If your an outdoors person Arizona is the place. I moved here from Cali 21 years ago and cant imagine living anywhere else. The heat is a pain, and it last more than 3 months. More like 5 months before it really starts cooling down, but thats why we have A/C. I work for the City of Phoenix and they always have Deisel tech jobs. Staring at 22.01 an hour, and topping out at 26.37 an hour. Although the pay may not be the most you can make. You cant beat the benefits as well as the retirement. Good Luck!!!
