question for you guys running a floor shifter

Discussion in '1973-1991 K5 Blazer | Truck | Suburban' started by **DONOTDELETE**, Sep 26, 2001.

where on the hump have you guys been mounting them? i have a 208 and it looks like there isn't enough room to mount one next to the 4x shifter. do you have to customize the base to round over the edge of the hump?

i took my t-case shifter boot off, and installed my B&M megashifter base on the left side about even with the edge of the hump. the t-case shifter boot will no longer fit, so, i will either cut some of it off, or go buy an aftermarket boot.

Mine is mounted so that it just covers the T-Case shifter "indicator" design. I cut the base of the Megashifter console to fit over the t-case shifter console. The boot is still perfectly usable, and it all looks great. Oh well, i don't get to see my little indicator to tell me I'm in 4Low - big deal! [IMG] The left side of the console is flush with the edge on the hump...

I mounted mine right next to the T-case shifter. Then I cut my base to fit around it. it covers up the gear indicator on the T-case boot, but an NP208 is easy to remember. If I had a digital camera, I could show some pics. I have the light truck megashifter.. so the base is kinda big, so it was gonna cover up the t-case shifter somehow no matter what

I found a sweet shifter in Jegs. It looks like a manual style but, its only for automatics. Its on page 169 of the latest catalog. Its made by Lokar. It looks like it will fit without modifying the transfer case lever. The P/N is 625-ATS6400BM for the TH400 version.
