    Got the beast out of the garage and around the block last night. Convinced myself I don't need a tranny rebuild (phew), but I'm now gonna drop it and fix all the leaks. I've always purchased seals and gaskets from the dealer for my other cars, is there a better place?

    Also, any opinions on RTV versus other products like 3M Wheatherstrip adhesive for gaskets? /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

    I try to stick with Felpro or Napa brands. There is one other brand but I cannot recall the name of them...
    As for RTV, this is what my dad told me way back..
    Red=High Temp(exhaust gasket)
    Black=Oil(oil pan)
    Blue=Water(water pump)
    Clear=Window(windshield)
    Hope this helps

    I use SuperBlue RTV for everything(water pumps, diff covers, head cover gaskets, etc...), and I haven't had a problem with it yet.

    My favorite gasket sealer is Permatex's Form-A-Gasket. I use the number 2, non-hardening stuff. A very thin layer is all that's needed. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

    GMS is the best sealant I have seen. I only use GM seals & gaskets...
