    Questions about DRAC\'s *Update*

I've tracked my speedometer problem to be the DRAC module in my 91. I was reading in my manual and it says that you can get different DRAC's when you change tires. Has anyone had success with this? Also how much can I expect to pay for it, I just found out that it's a dealer Item only /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Sounds to me like you'll have to call the dealer, or write the folks over at www.gmpartsdirect.com an email to see what they have to say price-wise.

I thought the DRAC on the trucks used a dip switch array that was used to "calibrate" to tire size?

I called the local Dealer yesterday and they guy was having a hard time looking it up. We kinda got in an argument 'cause he said it was aftermarket and I said I'm looking at it right here in the service manual. So I got the part # off the box and called again today and he said that it is discontinued /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif Has anyone else ran into this problem?

Several times. It's irritating to finally get part # for them to only tell you they have been discontinued.A good parts person can find NOS parts if they will take the time, but,it seems like when they're not considered warranty parts the dealers don't want to mess with them anymore. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

think the 'kit' was about $40 or so @ dealer on mine. got a pigtail, instructions and a couple of the clip-off pins. Haven't done the dirty work yet of taking it apart to install.. (something about a temp of 0 latley!)...

um, have it yes. have it where i can put my hands on easy.. no. (work schedule has me smothered until the weekend, but would be happy to hunt it down then?)
Seems there was a post or web-link on it @ a suspension site for some reason, but don't recall where i had found it. If i stumble across that I'll post it as well.

the part in this kit just plugs in and makes the adjustments. I haven't installed it yet (just do the calculations for how far speedo is off). /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
