Yeah, I'm just trying to draw you out so I can decide what happened to you. I'm down to one of 2 explanations.

1. You have been replaced under the control of an alien after extensive probing.

2) Your login has been hacked and someone is just jerking us around.

I'm leaning toward #1. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Geez, I didnt realise I carried the 1/2 ton flag so well. I guess I found a great deal on the parts and thought about how much Ive spent and hit the max of my 12 bolt and Dana 44 could handle. They do work but they are high maintenance.

My friends will agree with you somewhat - I have been taken over by an Alien (woman) and there has been some Probing involved! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif "I hope I didn't say that out loud just now"

Just had to convince spending the cash on 1 ton stuff was worth it! Now Ill be a slave for a year, plus I have to take her on Vacation. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif I hope she understands after Vacation comes $$$ARB air locker$$$ ,$$$ High Steer$$$ and mucho time in the garage.

I have 4" backspacing I did about 8 hours of grinding and fitting, I used a 10" Weld Hog grinding disk on a 1 hp makita grinder/polisher, a 4" Weld Hog on a Dewalt grinder and 5" 36# grit disk on a hand grinder. If you enjoy grinding, you are in for a treat. Why so many grinders? I like to knock projects out fast, so I used everything. Oh after the tires were mounted to the wheels, I had to do ever more grinding....fun....fun...fun...

Better get some particle MASKS!!!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Ive done the math a long time ago - just didnt want to drop the cash on a D60 when mine held up fine (at the time). Now I have noticed I break something every time I go out, so an upgrade is the natural thing to do.

Thanks for posting that article BadDog. I read it a couple of days ago and went and bought some 15s to replace the 16.5s I had on the K20.
I'm in the middle of a long trip at the moment and I wouldnt have done the swap so far from home if it wasnt for your insights. Because of the swap I can now get replacement tires anywhere. Also I got rid of the crap wheels I had where some peanut previous owner had changed the offsets on the rears to match the fronts grrrrrrrrrr. And I'm now running 35"s /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
Anyway thanks for the article it was very much appreciated downunder. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I have 3.5" backspacing and grinding was a snap, took about an hour of slow smooth grinding and them smoothing it up with a flapper wheel. I had to just grind the caliper, no mounting ears or anything. Just the caliper right up to the edge of the mounting bracket. Worked out great, did not have to cut down the plates that lock the caliper in and the caliper has plenty of beef left.

I was really nervous about doing this, but with the 3.5 backspacing I have total confidence in it.

Keith had 4.25 and is gonna be a grinding fool if he ever gets the damn 60 together.
