quick ignition question

    On an electronic ignition distributor, isn't the #1 plug just to right of the plug in for the battery/tach plugs?

    do you mean HEI? if so, if you were to look down at the dist. from the front of the engine, I believe that #1 should just about be at the 4-5 o'clock position.

    No 1 can be put anywhere on the cap as long as the rest of the order follows.

    Something you really should verify yourself....

    It SHOULD be the next one clockwise after the plugins. That's where the factory puts it s that's where I always put it.

    I second that. It doesn't matter where you put it as long as you follow 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    I just asked that way cuz that's the way I always did it. When I dropped the distributor in I thought I may have had it in 180 out or maybe a plug wire in the wrong spot but it turned out to be that I had it retarded a bit too much /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
    All is good in BIG BLOCK-ville
