quick question..really quick..aluminum header gaskets, which way

    I am in the middle of changing header gaskets. I am putting in for the first time the aluminum ones....BUT i lost the directions...which way do they face?

    There is a smooth side that has the most flat surface.
    There is the rougher side that is not flat..

    hmmm....lets see...if I was to put water on the rough side it would hold some...does that help?(my lame description)

    i would say flat surface to the head.that is the way i did mine.havent had a leak yet.

    I have the percy's seal 4 good and yeah, I think the flat surface goes against the head. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
