Hey Chaz, just turn the stereo up!!!! Wheres the play in it? If i remember correctly, the one i have (on a th350 version) mounts to a big bolt, then the rod goes back to the shift rail, right? Maybe just a couple rubber washers between all the parts where they hook together? Just an idea. Or you could buy the 465 version 203 range case i have, then do the doubler, and get that cool twin stick ORD shifter i'm putting in. Come on, you know you want to!!

yea its on the bolt where it is loose...i already have the 203 adapter and the 203 gear box so all i need is the ORD kit....BUT (there is always a but) i am really short on fundage...not goin to have a job after the first and turnin back into a full time student...so i am goin to be broke for a long time to come..i guess i will get some brass and make a bushing on the lathe...i havnet used a lathe since HS so this could be interesting..

So if you grab the shifter handle the noise quits? Theres a thin wave washer that goes in between the adapter and the shifter handle, on the bolt, that is missing on mine, and mine makes a somewhat high pitched rattle as it vibrates, at all speeds. If I grab it, it goes away. I'm sure adding that THIN (or else the bolt will loosen up) wave washer will solve MY problem.

BTW...got a nice pic of you wedged into that hill you had trouble with out in Hollister...lol. Anyways...GM actually has the answer...when i bought a new NP205 shift stick from them this year to swap the Chalet over i was shocked when it came out of the box....it now has a big rubber spring type bushing where the bolt goes thru...no noises here!

I know there was a post about this on NP 203 shifters...a couple of 2 cent nylon washers from the hardware store solved it. Copper or brass is the 2nd option....

    Group 4.570 (87-90 K30) #3 LEVER, Trfer Case Control PN# 15548975...the late model Knob Assm is PN# 15648946...and the boot PN# is 14071955.

I didn't use the stock linkage...used 2 hiem joints from work. Some of the older t cases had the link welded to the shift rod...also you can get the new new nut for the lever which has a threaded hole allready in place for a grease zerk.
