I am wondering if a Uniden, model Pro 510 iS any good?

It doe'snt have all the bell's and whistle's, but I don't need to be fumbling around with that stuff anyhow.

It has just an on-off, squelch, and of course 40 channel's.

It's on sale for $52.00 so I am just curious about it.
    Thank's in advance!

As a basic bare-bones radio, I like the Uniden 510XL. I own one, have since 1998 or so and as yet I've been unable to kill it. Not sure how the new vintage hold up but if it's even half as good in that department as my older one you should be more than pleased...

The receive and transmit on this little radio is pretty good. Invest in a good antenna and you should be happy...

My comments in the PM I replied to.

But once again... the 510 does what it does, very well. Plenty of bang for the buck.
