I have a set on my K30 - the ones that dump straight down. Minor clearance issue on the driver's side engine mount. I trimmed the mount about 1/4" with a torch. The angled-back ones should fit even better.

It would be easiest to trim the mount before installing the engine. Then you can mock it up and see exactly where it interferes.

No. GM made (and last I checked still made) stainless steel "header manifolds" for the SBC 350. Only about $250 or more each /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

u2slow, are those the 2" version? Both dump straight? What is the application (part number?) and do you have a source? Saw the page with the 2.5s, but I'm more interested in the 2" variety... I gotta redo my exhaust with the doubler anyway, sound like the right time to look for the manifolds too. Damn, I'm gonna need to sell another kidney, who says I need to keep one... /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

The stainless headers were a C4 Corvette part. I dont have the part number but they are still available from any GM dealer.

You might also check junk yards. GM also used those SS shorty headers on the fuel injected Box vans and motor homes with the van front end. I think they were the G series vans.

They may be, but thats not what I'm talking about, GM has them made specifically for the C/K/G/P vehicles. Lemme go get the numbers...

Option code for HD emissions on 5.7L VIN M is H5D. Note on the page says "H5D emissions identified by the stainless steel tubular exhaust manifold"

Totally unrelated, bu just noticed that trucks could have an ESC override switch on the tranny (4wd w/350L AT CA '85 or 86), and the "odd" Q-jets with the dual capacity pump have a coolant temp switch in the passenger side head.
