Ok so what are youall using for a setting on the different terains.
    Sand
    Mud
    Snow
    Rocks
    Dirt Roads
    Etc.....

I just am having some dificultys understanding why you would want the shocks as stiff as possiable on a dirt road.
Seams to me if they were soft they would absorb the bumps better??? Or is my brain tweeked???
Pls Edumakate me on this theory......................

    Burt,

Ok, here is what I'm doing....
For road, I run them on like 2.5 (I say 2.5 is b/c with the incab dual remote, you can have the setting at 2.5, 2.0...etc.
    Snow, same thing
On freeway..I like to run like 1.5 or so. It really feels smooth.
Wheelin, I crank it up to 4 or 4.5.
Dirt roads I put it on maybe 3 or 3.5. Dirt roads can have like ditches and stuff, and you don't want super soft there. I wouldn't go super stiff either. Anyways, this is what works for me.

    Ok cool!
What about slow crawlin, like rocks or riverbed type terain??

So is the idea to have super stiff shocks so your springs don't move as easy??? My brain is telling me that if the shocks were super soft on the rocks then the suspension would articulate easyier....???

Anyone know the theroy here??? Why would we want stiff as hell shocks when offroading???

    Hey Burt,

Ok, I see your point. When I go to test the flex on my truck, I turn it down all the way (soft), since all I'll be doing is going up the ramp and back down.
But say if you're like wheelin in the trails or rocks or whatever, I would want it more firm (I never ran it on 5, except when I was testing how stiff it is, and its pretty stiff on the streets), but I would put it on 4 b/c what if a wheel slips off a rock or something, you would want that extra firmness to keep it from slamming down really hard or what not. You want the shocks to do their jobs. I use to run RS5000s, and the 9000s on position 3.5 feels like the 5000s. So right there, you know the 5000s aren't super soft. I guess where I'm trying to get at is, would you want to go wheel your truck with no shocks?? Position 1 isn't not nearly as soft like that, but close enough. Am I making any sense here? [IMG]

Ya, I think I'm confusing myself with two different functions!
Articulation is the ability to felx over an obstical, right?
So during this 'function' the shocks job is too, what???
Keep the flex from bouncin back or relasing too quickly????
Or is it to help keep the the tires 'pressed' to the ground????
