Just for grins, what board member has the rarest breed of dog? My Cirrus is an Akbash and there are like 5000 of them in the US. Who's next?

We don't have rare dogs but we do poodle mixes peke-a-poos, pom-a-poos, shih-poos, yorkie-poos and schnawsers. The wifes business name is beth's little babies. If you need a small dog let me know.

    A vampire couch dog?

Anyway, mine definitely aren't the rarest dogs on the planet Earth, but not many people I know have heard of Weimaraners. Back when we first started owning them, virtually nobody had heard of them, and now I know of about 5 others in town so they're definitely gaining popularity. Still, half the time I tell people I have Weimaraners and they say huH?

I think those Winers are very good looking dogs. Much better looking than a shepherd or dobie. How is their disposition?

    I had a 120 lb. German Sheperd.

The only thing "rare" abought him was when he would not be chasing some poor soul in the neighborhood.

We put him through charm school but he flunked out.:frown1:

After balling my eyes out for two days I found a new home for him on a ranch.

Individually, besides being total morons, they're great. If you get a bunch of them together they're meaner than a pack of angry Dobermans. Mine have great personalities, but I know they won't hesitate to tear anybody up who shouldn't be around. One of mine couldn't recognize me one night because it was so dark and I was at a distance and I was almost afraid because she was poised for the kill. This same dog can play all day with my little cousins with them grabbing her legs, pulling her ears, etc. Most of the time she's just happy to have attention. I would definitely recommend Weimaraners to anybody who has the time to give them the attention and exercise they need. If you don't give them frequent activity, however, they'll tear up your entire house (speaking from experience) so they're not good dogs for someone who is gone all day and has to have a dog who can stay in a crate or something.

Also, if anyone you know is considering a Weimaraner, have them visit http://www.weimrescue.org/ There is a lot of good info about Weims on there as well as the opportunity to adopt unwanted dogs, which is always a far better option than buying one from a breeder in my opinion.

I don't own one, but if I could find one I'd buy a Norwegian Lundehund.

    There's only about 200 in the U.S.

Why do I want one of these? Three words: Double Jointed Neck

Yep they have a double jointed neck, among other very bizarre traits.

Not that rare, I have one too, specializes in cat sh*t.

I have a chow/red heeler mix and a boxer/red heeler mix, so nothing too rare, just mutts. Although the guy I got the chow mix from swore the mother was "pure dingo" :surepal: (dumbass).

Have a friend that has a weimaraner/great dane mix. Beautiful dog and people ask what it is all the time.

I have a Fila Brasileiro, a Brazilian Mastiff. I don't know how many there are in the states , I only know that I have yet to see or meet anyone with one. He is about 200 LBS. Here are some pics of him with my wife and daughter.

****in awesome dog. He is coming around, just turned 2yrs old. I got him at about 1.5 years old. Calm and gentle as can be....just dont come into my yard when I am not there:grin:

I want to get another, it will probably be a full Neopolitan or a Cane Corso Italiano, Italian Mastiff.

    The mastiff breeds kick arse!!!!!

Here is a pic of a Cane Corso...Gabriella is BEAUTIFUL!!!! http://www.amorecanecorso.com/puppies.html
