what do you think is the most soughtafter k5 ever made like with trans ams its probably the 69 since they only made like 6 of them so i was just wondering what would be the rarest or the most sought after maybe for special options or a realy powerful motor like did the 70 come with a ls6

I really like the 72. But that's becouse my first K5 was a 72 with a 454, sm465/NP-205 14 Bolt FF / Dana 60 with 456 gears. So I've always got a eye for a 72 with a good body so I can build another like my first. My current problem is I just don't have the money for another one right now. Oh'well, I'll get one sooner or later.

There is one in town here. I see it quite a bit. It must be a daily driver.

Only 4935 Blazers were made in 1969......in my book that makes it the most "rare"

If you want a fancy big block LS6, you'll have to add it yourself....the K5 started life as a "Utility Vehicle", not a performance or luxury vehicle.

Most people don't even know that originally things like a hardtop and passenger seat were OPTIONS!!! The base truck had NO top and only a driver's seat.....talk about spartan accomodations!!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Good memories bout them.My first 4x4,a 72 K5 with 350-465-205&3.08 gears for 900 bucks.Blew 350 and in went 72-402.Ran great.Loved to sucker Mustangs at redlights.Get strange looks when 35 Gumbos smoke on takeoff. With 3.08s it got bout 16 MPG when I kept my foot out of the carb too.My wife was using it when a 2 ton truck crossed over to hit it head on.I think it saved her life.I worked 3rd shift and she took it instead of her car cause it was already warm and her car didn't start.{19 deg. that morning}.Still have body and frame, used all parts on something.Got crashed in 87 and just traded 465-205 for Ford 435-205 to do doubler in my 88 today.I don't throw anything away cause it might be usefull sometime.Cheap packrat would rather trade than buy. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gifer in TENN.

No problem, I am just a pontiac freak.

You would like my 70 Lemans then. My mom's ex ordered it new. took delivery in dec 69.
He was a cheap bastard and wouldn't splurge for much. He did get a 350 V8 (could have got a 400)
3 speed Sagianaw base tranny, too cheap for the auto.
3 speed floor shifter. Hated colum just enough that he ordered a floor shifter (Hurst)/ he didn't want to shift much so he kept the 3 speed instead of getting the 4. That also got it buckets and a center consol.
    It is a convertable.
He got the convience light package that included extra interrior lights, trunk light and under hood light.
Only other options on the car is Safety track, remote driverside mirror, rear speaker (no Reverb base AM radio) and a vanity mirror.
Here is the sweet part about this car. He is an anal retentive accountant. EVERYTHING that was ever done down to replacing missing screws is documented with cost. I have the dealer copy of the window sticker, protecto plate, original owners manual that looks brand new, 70 GM shop manual, original bill of sale. All numbers matching car.

Rarest Blazer. .402 with a 4 speed was available in 72. Not many of those. There is a very clean 402 for sale near my work. It's a Auto. It's the guy I bought my 70 Burb from. Noticed it had a for sale sign on it last week. VERY clean truck body is near mint as is the interrior. Only big problem is the A/C doesn't work. He's probably asking $10k for it. It's not a 100 point, it's a driver. Has a nice set of mags on it.

Well if you are a pontiac freak then you know that in 67 only 65 ram air firebirds were made, and 2 were convertible.
    How about that for rare?

For a Pontiac, I'd want a 64 GTO (The very first year of the GTO)
