I really thank each and every one of you for your comments on my earlier post. As you can see, this is a very important topic that will affect all of our lives in one way or another. Our government will and can affect our lives in just about every way from congress, to the senate, and ultimately to the president. We the people are the ones who can determine our future course by voting. If we vote, we can say that we have contributed and have that right to complain should things go astray. I know that there are people out there who say that both Bush and Gore are worthless but that's no excuse to not vote. I can tell you that I have done my homework and confidently tell you that Gov Bush is the way to go. He will not support any anti-freedom bills and big Government. He believes in the people and for the people. I'm not trying to sell you all on Gov Bush, it's just the facts. Being that we have less than two months to go, it is vitally important to address this subject and let the voters know what's going on. With all of your responses I can say that you all are well versed on the government and their record. That goe's without saying however we need to take action now or forever reap the after affects. I know that this site is for the K5 but right now we are in a situation that could affect our 4x4 activities and many other things in our lives. Lets get the anti-freedom officials out of office and get the Pro-Freedom officials in. Please continue to post you're comments because all of us can learn a lot from reading them...........Det45

I agree with you 110 percent. Let's hope GW Bush Jr wins the election. Although I wish Senator McCain was still in the running. But we can't have our cake and eat it too most of the time. They'll have to peel me from my K5 Blazer.. if it ever runs lol lol.

Det45, Thank you for bringing it up. This is a 4x4 forum, but the November's outcome could have a serious impact on the future of our hobby in more ways than one. Trail use, taxation on SUV's (I know some don't like the word, but that's what THEY call them), and don't forget gas prices. I'm totally for Bush for more than one reason (foreign policy, gun control, abortion, education, etc.), I also feel he has more integrity than gore, go Bush, and God bless America.[IMG]

I have to say this. Not trying to sound unpatriotic or anything, but if Gore wins, I would seriously consider moving to New Zealand to be with my girl. I'm sick of this [censored], and if the rest of America doesn't change it's ways, they are getting what's coming to them. I voted for Dole last time, was to young to vote in '92, and have been listening to Rush Limbaugh since 1989 or so. You could say I am a Republican to say the least. I don't want to be around when the military falls, the government goes bankrupt, and all the other stuff that the Liberals are bringing us to happens. If we don't turn this around, I think I may go see what the rest of the world looks like for a while. I dunno, just me.......

With the way that we're getting taxed right now I doubt the government will go broke but they'll sure spend the money on bigger government. Now, I hate confrontation so no flames please, this is just my opinion.
I have had my mine made up for 4 years now, the next time I voted it would be republican all the way.

Let me just finish school, and maybe I'll join you in New Zealand. The way I see it, everything is supposed to be getting better, more equal, more controlled. The government is regulating everything, even those things that you'd think you'd have personal choice over, especially in a democracy. Democrats are turning this country more socialist by the day and I don't see it getting better any time soon. Of course I'm going to vote Bush, and speak my mind to everyone that will listen.

Just the other day, I met a step-grandmother of one of my friends when I was over there trying to record that FOX news program. They asked me what I was wanting to record, and I told them, and she told me that her granddaughter (a girl I graduated with) was on the Gore campaign and a member of Greenpeace. She made sure that I knew that they were going to vote Gore. I had to excuse myself right there, it almost made me sick.

It truely scares me what this country is coming to. More and more laws every day and for what? Just to create this perfect little world that'll never be. I personally can't believe that Clinton got reelected, I voted the other way. That man is the most lying, smooth talking SOB that I think I've ever seen. And those low income people, the uneducated, the ones that just like life the way it is and want something for nothing, they eat it up. So AJM, what's the politics look like over there in NZ? Will they let me keep my blazer? Cause while I like texas, and love the USA, if we go socialist or they cut into our bill of rights, it may very well be time to get out...

Sorry for the rambling, I usually don't respond to these posts...but I'm forever thinking about this stuff, just can't ever put it into writing. I don't even know if it came across this time, but oh well I tried.

Laketex, well, the main reason I want to go over there is she is there. She wants to be here, but if things go to [censored] here, that is her home. NZ has it's ups and it's downs. Not to knock on Austraila or Ozzies, but it's kinda like a less county-ish Austraila. It's still got farms and nature and lots of good 4x4ing, especially if you like mud, and lots and lots of it. However, there isn't this vast space of just plain nature to seperate people. Politics is kinda muddy right now. They, like most places in the world, have a liveral government in place. The hard liners, if they got their way, would completely emasculate the NZ military. No combat aircraft, no ground combat vehicles, only 1 real combat ship, and just a small token army. However, they do have a good majority of "conservatives", as most of their country is made up of farmers and country folk. Realists, not dreamers. Their economy is in a slump, 1 NZ dollar = 43 US cents. Which is a good thing for me, a BIG bouquette of spring flowers delivered to her work cost me 20 something US, but sucks for her/us because plane tickets are insane. Around 1100 round trip. For her that is about 2500 bucks. Ouch. I like it because it reminds me of home, Michigan, all green and country like, and has some cool 'wheeling, but mostly I would go there because she is there.
You can keep your Blazer, as I have thought of shipping mine over there too. They don't really have any modification standards or anything, nor do you have to ship it in factory condition. It's just that shipping it from California to New Zealand is going to be $$$$$. That's 12,000 miles. You have to pay a special tax since it isn't right hand drive (they do that and drive on the left over there, weirdos [IMG]). There was nothing that would prevent me from taking my truck over there, so I doubt anything for you either. Just would have cost a bit, around 10 grand to get it there. Then gas would be about 3 something US a gallon there, although they use the litre.
Lots of differences, but a cool place. Oh yeah, and let me tell you the women man.............wow...........Kiwi women are smokin'........[IMG]

I considered moving somewhere if Bore um.. I mean Gore aka OZONE MAN gets elected. But me being a firearms owner and shooter, you can't own firearms in Australia or any surrounding areas. They had mandatory turn in for all firearms and they didn't give people money to do it either. I'll have to stick to Texas or Arizona.. Two good govenors fighting for "the peoples" rights. Or Texas could just secede from the rest of the country.. and become it's own country.. lol. It's big enough.
Just kidding though.. I'm a yankee transplant here.

I'm voting for Bush in November but if he doesn't get his head out of his ass it is all over for his campaign. He is a bumbling idiot, he can't pronounce simple words and calls a reporter an [censored] over an open mike. I'm not sure he is the right man for the job as I feel he is an idiot and doesn't have a clue to what needs to be done to win the Presidency. The only thing worse is that piece of crap Al Gore don't get me started on him. Hell maybe I'll write my own name on the ballot just for grins, but I'd rather see Gov. Venturas name on there he doesn't take crap from anyone, but he'd probably offend the whole world and start WWIII. Hopefully Bush will get his act together and regain the faith he has lost, from voters like me. Later

When the mud gets deep and the hills get steep we'll find out who bought the parts that were cheap.

Again, you do nothing by voting but present a popular opinion. Det45...give it up...this is not the time or place for this...you are using up valuable space and time to present your political views on a forum for K5Blazers. I and others from what I have read could care less how and for whom and why you are going to vote.We get enough crap on the radio and tv. Then we come here for a bit of relaxing and here comes the jerks and the soap boxes preaching who to vote for and telling us we got to vote. Well my friend, I could care less for your political views...if ya got something to say about the K5 that might help myself and others...then go ahead...otherwise keep your other stuff to yourself.
In as much as we all have the right to freedom of speach...I feel there is the reverse...the freedom not to have to hear bull$hit like the stuff you are filling the pages with.
And for the record, I am canadian born American citizen,my dad was canadian, mom is american. I was educated here in the good ole USA, and also a retired Captain USMC, 2 purple hearts, silverstar and a bronze star. I fought for the right to speak, but I also took the time to learn just how the government works. And your vote does not mean a thing. The electorial college votes in the president, and 11 times in our short history the EC has voted in a president that was not on top of the popular vote. That is what our vote is called...the popular vote. Read up on the government.

If you guys truly believe in individual freedom, vote for Harry Browne, the libertarian candidate. I think we need Bush this time around, because he should at least be able to hold the line on big government. But if you truly want personal individual freedom, look towards the libertarian candidate, maybe in the next election. Opinions are like ... blah blah blah.

You are just the kind of idiot that screws things up for other folks. I do not believe I read anywhere in here that this was for forcing your personal political beliefs on everyone else, however, I do know that this forum is for folks interested in the K5 and want to learn and exchange ideas pertaining to just that.

Jeez Eagle you're coming off more of the political fanatic than Det 45...hell if you don't wanna read it don't click on it...just like in the Marines point and chose to click or not to remember?[IMG]

Yeah its a K5 site but I believe you can post whatever suits your fancy and if no one reads it and replies it hasn't used hardly any space at all....[IMG]

Oh by the way I'm glad you're a Marine and were rewarded for your Service and Valor all those ribbons, but as you so eliquitly said most of us don't want to hear about...its a K5 site remember?

Hang tough and show some latitude with others ideas, visions , and beliefs, if you don't, then the Rights you fought so hard for are wasted. Unfornately here in the USA we fight or fought to preserve the rights given to EVERYBODY, not just the ones whom fought or died or spilled blood in the course of protecting those same rights, yeah we even have to protect the rights of the ones we disagree with!!!

Stay frosty man!!
