    Fantasy Fiction "the chronicals of Thomas Covenant", by Steven R. Donaldson
    Fiction; "Atlas Shrugged" by Ann Rand

    "The Stand" - Stephen King. The movie doesn't even come close too the book. I also like "The Hitcher's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. That whole series is very funny.

    Vampires: Most of Anne Rice

    Vinatge Horror: Most of HP Lovecraft

    Manga: Hellsing - Kohta Hirano

    Obligatory Series: Lord Of The Rings

    Ashamed To Mention I Love It So Much: Harry Potter.....

    As for nonfiction I've read a few..... mostly fact and trivia, some expose ones like "fast food nation" and a few biographies.

    [/ QUOTE ]I used too feel the same way. But you just can't get into what the carictar is thinking or feeling with a movie like you can with the book.

    Fiction:
    - The Stand (Unabridged), and It, by Stephen King.
    - All of Tom Clancy's fiction works, but not the OpCenter or NetForce series'.
    - All of "The Corps" series, by W.E.B. Griffin.
    - Anything by Dale Brown or Harold Coyle (The Ten Thousand is excellent).
    - Airframe, and Sphere, by Michael Crichton.
    - 2001; 2010; 2061; by Arthur C. Clarke.
    - a science fiction book called "Steel Beach" whose author I don't remember.
    - Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven.

    Non-Fiction:
    - Flags of Our Fathers, and Flyboys, by James Bradley.
    - Fatal Voyage by Dan Kurzman. About the USS Indianapolis in WWII.
    - Making The Corps by Thomas Ricks.

    The movie is suspost to be out in June 05. Dont know how it could be better than the books tho.
