The left rear axle bearings are shot in my '72 blazer 12 -bolt. Anybody have any tips / info for replacing them before I start?

Because the bearing rides on the axle shaft when the bearing goes out it often takes out the axle shaft with it. Now might be a good time to look into chromoly axleshafts if the stock ones are messed up.

Also the 12bolt cener pin retaining bolts like to break [IMG]. If that has happened you will need to take off one of the bearing caps so you can drill a hole in the part that is left and use a ez-out to remove the rest of the bolt...than you need to find a new bolt (which none of the dealships even had in there books for mine).

Bottom line: Make sure you can be w/o your truck for a while just in case.
