no because in 1970 they widened to the width that they were after 69

    64-69 12 bolt are actually 1.5" narrower

and you wont be able to widen an SF axle cuz you wont be able to install C clips again if you move axles outwards any, maybe you can order longer shafts for one though, and lengthen the tubes maybe

    good luck

you can get a 12 bolt out of a 1/2 ton van and it is about 4'' (?) wider than the truck 12 bolt, but you will have to move the spring perches.

A 70's 12B is the same width as an 80's 10B. A buddy just blew out his 10B in his 87' blazer and swapped in a 12B, they are the same.

The key isn't the year, but the application. That's like saying all '70's 14B are the width wms to wms.

oh and the 12's and 10's with the 2.75 wide rear shoes are another 1.5" wider BTW, the shafts and tubes are same length no matter the brakes size

10 bolts and 12 bolts are same width and yes the key IS the year when it comes to the GM truck 12 bolts, '70 and up being 1.5" wider than 64-69, 2.75 wide shoes didnt happen until sometime after 72, and finned drms didnt happen until 71 when front disc brakes were put on trucks and when 2wd pattern changed to 5 lug
