Rear disk brake praportioning valve Q\'s

I have a few Q's in relation to my other thread. Can you use the stock booster and or proportioning valve with rear disk breaks? I am under the impression with power breaks and the rear calipers being 1/2 ton that it is all ok? I have the setup already but was unsure if the rest of the componetry was up to snuff.

Most people on this board have good luck w/ the stock master, prop valve, and booster (as long as your truck is 71 or newer...meaning not 4wheel drum). I am going to try taking out the prop part of the prop valve (leaving just the idiot light switch) and install a wilwood adjustable prop valve (even though it works fine the way it is...I just can't leave well enough alone).

If you are going to change to a different prop valve you might want to go w/ one from a car w/ 4 wheel disc. Check out "Steve_Chin"'s website. He has alot of info on doing a rear disc swap into a 1st gen. He normally posts on the 1st gen board only.

Where exactly is the proportional valve on my 71 blazer?

It is mounted right next to the master cylinder...you can't miss it.

What year is your truck? I don't know how to tell if it has the drum MC and prop. valve...I have never seen one. If it does have the drum stuff I would swap it out, and if you are going to swap it out why not get stuff made for 4 wheel disc?
