my rear end - stock 10 bolt - seems to kind of "lock up" sometimes and the tires chirp like something is wrong inside, causing binding or something in the gears. I haven't pulled the cover off yet, becasue it only happens every now and then, either slowing down to a stop, and then it will continue a little after i start moving again. Any ideas? Maybe my 10 bolt is breaking.....then I guess I would have to replace those gosh darn 3.42's for 4.11's in a 14 SF....[IMG]

If you've got a factory locker( A.K.A Gov-loc) then it sounds like something that happened to me a few years ago! Don't have that problem with my 14FF W Detriot!! If you already have a 14SF it's alot better than a 10 . But if you catch it in time and you want to keep the 10 in, replace that carrier!

Could be your brakes freezing up or the rear end. You said it only happens when slowing down, like when you're applying brakes? I'd check the brakes first.

Dont waste your time on the 10 bolt. Get your 14ff ready!
(this is what you wanted to hear, you just needed an excuse I bet)

Took the cover off this morning, found a lot of metal on the magnet considering i changed the oil in there about 10K ago. I went to the junkyard and found onlt 3.73's came home to fill up the 10 bolt, and the fill plug was seized, so I filled it up through the vent...hopefully it will be OK for a little while...
