rear main/flywheel

    how hard is it to change the rear main oil seal and the flywheel? i kinda know what to do but some buddies are going to help me this weekend. one of them has to do the seal on his f@rd. think we can pull it off in one day? any tricks would be very helpful.

    It depends entirely on what year you have. some have a 1piece, and some have a 2 piece.

    81 not sure if it's a 305 or 350 think it's 350. not the factory motor. i think it's the two piece

    Doin' it all on a budget

    It shouldn't be too hard at all to do the seal if it's a two piece, I just did one on my Cougar. I don't know about a flywheel, but if you're going to do a flexplate, it's also very easy, I had to unbolt the transmission and transfer cases from their mounts and the engine in order to do it, but it didn't take very long.

    Your right, it's a 2 piece. You should have no problems with changing it. Just read your book.

    is insall of flywheel same process as on cougar as it is for k5?
