Has anyone had any experience changing the rear main seal on the 6.2? I have an 83 K5 with the 6.2 and the rear main is leaking like a sieve. Never torn into a diesel, and I am curious as to what I can expect.

If you have ever replaced a rear main on a small-block gasser, it is exactly the same. Just drop the pan, and replace the seal. Your '83 will have a two-piece seal. If it's original, it will have a rope-style seal. The newer seals are much better.

    Good luck.
