I did a search and found some info but I have a different problem. My window rolls down from the rear with the key but not the switch on the inside. What might be wrong and how do I go about fixing it.....Jason

I'll email you a wiring diagram from a '78. Its basically the same but there may be a black wire included in the harness that is a ground (you'll either have four wires going into the tailgate or three wires). I think the easiest place to check is power into the switch on your dash. If you have power there then check the up and down power coming out of the switch while the switch is in said position. Once you find no power, work up the line.

Funny thing is it was working then stoped all of a sudden yesterday. we were getting out of the den and headed home and I was rolling up the window and it just stopped so I turned off the truck got out and went to the back and it worked rolled right up. The switch inside won't go up or down....Jason

Check the wiring that runs down the frame rail to the tailgate. Mine did the same thing and I found out that a couple of the wires had worn off the insulation and shorted out /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif Works fine now /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

There is also a relay mounted on the firewall(pre 81 models, 81 and up the relay is in the fusebox), check that /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

mine did that all of a sudden too

I had replaced the fuse for the radio with one of those that lights up when it's blown....well, it blew, but it would only light up when you held the dash switch down. I put a regular fuse back in and it started working again /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
