You can probably get a new one from someone like LMC truck specifically for your year. There prices seem to be pretty reasonable. The site is www.lmctruck.com.

I think you can go about to 1978 or so. The floor pan is different, and the seats don't fold for your vintage. Making newer folding seats fit, correctly, wouldn't be worth the time. I don't beleive the folding seat was ever an option, either you had the style you need, or the newer style that folded, so if the seat doesn't fold, it should fit in your truck.

No anti-theft measures on your truck? No pity when its stolen

after stuffing the back of my blazer with all of my trail gear I decided I needed a Jeep seat (or maybe even a smaller short bucket seat.)

If you have trouble finding exactly what your lookin for you might consider the jeep route.

    Coil sprung 71 blazer.

I think any will fit from 73-77.
I read somewhere (maybe on this site) that they changed the frame in 78 to acomodate the new folding seat and drop-off in the bed for more foot room.
