Rear spring/shackle flip question I\'ve never seen before

I've heard talk about flipping the shackle flip brackets to get a slightly longer spring, but what if you do this on a truck that already has 56" springs? Assuming custom springs, couldn't this be a relatively easy way to get a 60'ish inch spring and have some extra travel, flex, smooth ride, etc. etc.? Any idea on the length of spring this would produce?

yes, you do gain a little, but I have heard that it is something like 2.5'' not 4, still waiting to get some definite figures though.
