If you do a search on "rear window" you will find numerous posts regarding how/why etc.. the rear window has about a 1/2-1" part sticking out.

I think that's what you mean. I have yet to see a blazer that has a window that travels 100% into the tailgate..but I guess someone may have that. my 86 has about 1/2" sticking out.

Mine rolled all the way down. Had to move some wires around, and the whole thing has some adjust to it.

The windows are supposed to roll all the way down. You probably just need to adjust and lube it up.

There are about 6 points of adjustment. It took me about an hour to get mine so that it went all the way down.
I drive alot with the tailgate down with a four wheeler in back so it really worried me about breaking the window.
Don't have any problems now but I do need to buy another four wheel as I got rid of it. While your in there be sure
to put some light duty grease(litium grease works great) on every moving part there is. It helps alot and will save
wear on the expensive parts of the regulator. Good luck.
