This was a "mis"adventure that occured about 8 months ago.
Friend borrowed truck. Friend mis-read terrain. Friend put truck in 6 foot deep hole. Broke a 10 bolt shaft on the way out.

Since then, the truck has sat in my driveway, getting a new engine, winch, 42" TSL's, Hummer rims, dana 60, grill, transmission and twin transfer cases...

I hope to wheel it again soon, just this time, soley myself between the gas pedal and seat.

I let theBigdaddyof2 drive my truck and he broke the 4.88 ring gear in the 12 Bolt! Since then, I have learned that 1/2 ton was not for me and never let theBigdaddyof2 drive your rig - no matter how cool he thinks your rig is. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yup never let anyone drive your rig. I let my cousin drive my old burb back from the fishen hole one day (gravel roads) and he thought hed be cool and get the truck kinda "rockin" as we were doin like 35. any way takes the wheel jerks it left then right then left agin and by this time he is allready out of control so we're headed off the road and he locks the brakes (cant turn with brakes locked ya know) so we go off the road through a fence and over some cows and a couple of 2ft wide 2ft deep streems before he finally gets the trcuk stoped. When i got out of the trcuk I was pretty sure i was going to kill him. The truck looked ok but upon further inspection the frame had broke and buckeled up right under the steeering box and the front d44 was bent. the only way to fix was to cut that section of frame out and weld in a new one So i just bought a k5 and stuck all the 3/4 ton gear and entire drivetrain into it. I still hate him for that /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

38x15x16.5" Ground Hawgs. They're an old school tire, but they're still availible. Denman makes them. They wear VERY slowly, but mine are on they're last legs now, so I'm going to give some interco's a try.

The ground hawgs are a REALLY solid bias ply tire, some have reported good results, other though different.

Theres two tread stles, ones sorta like a TSL the others somwhat like a bogger (the one I have).
