Reciever hitch

    would it be safe to take the stinger and put a shackel throught it where the ball normaly goes and use it as a recovery point.

    Yes... its just as safe as putting a d-ring bar in the receiver (they are sold a all tyes of 4X4 shops)... thats much safer than putting the tow rope around a ball...

    I've done it. I enlarged the hole with a torch so I could use a BIG shackle. The stinger is starting to deform from yanks with a strap during mud stucks. I think it is due to the heat from the torch.

    Ok thanks i was just goin to buy a hitch and put a shackle in it so i dont but one of the d ring things and it only be for a recovery point and i can use the hitch for its real purpose.
