Liberty Safes. I've got one and I really like it. I even went to the factory, got a tour, and then ordered mine on the spot. http://www.libertysafe.com/

I just recently went through the same decision process. Price-per-pound I also selected a Liberty Safe.

I've got an order in right now on a Liberty "Lincoln" safe.
    (Granite finish with E-Lock)
Hoping to take delivery in a few weeks.

I agree. I have a Liberty gun safe as well. You are going to need a big one for that many rifles.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

The DU gun may be very valuble to collectors. Looks like you have a rifle with a medallion in the stock - What is that? I have a wild turkey federation edition that looks a lot like it.

Desert Rat, did you go to Utah for the tour, or do the Sacto and San Jose dealers manufacture safes there?

Went to the factory in Utah while I was there visiting relatives. My brother even went to work for them for a while. They only manufacture them in Utah. I seriously thought about selling them on the side but several folks in the bay area beat me to it.

I got my gun safe off ebay from this guy

    here's his old auctions

looks like the burgandy ones like mine are around $600 now! :eek1:
He also has much larger safes too.

He doesn't have anything listed right now but most of the time its free shipping. I got a 22 cu ft safe for $780 shipped to my door! shelf on top for pistols and room for at least 10-12 long guns and three shelfs up the side!

edit add: I forgot to add, he sells the blems cheaper, mine wasn't a blemmish sale, its very nice, the finish is textured, the inside is very tight fit and overall a great safe! Only thing I would change is add the digital lock instead of combo lock. The door does make the WHOOOSH sound when you close the door, you know its making a good seal!
