I purchased a set of domestic and import in 3/4". They are both rated at 4/75 ton but the domestic are definately higher quality and a little smaller.

This guy is a good dealer. Super fast AND answers email!
I think he has a retail store in Portland.

Are his deals on winch line ok?

    Thought I would give y'all a heads-up /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

the 2 for $12 is a good deal on the imports, and $15 each on domestic is about normal i think. just my .02.

Isnt 9500 lbs kinda light for 4x4 recovery?? i mean if you have to give someone a good reef while towing, or snacth block the winch, thatll most likely be over the rating on the shackle. I carry a couple beefy 20 tonners and a 35 tonner in case i gotta pull out something big. all my straps are 5 or 6 inch. i kanda get scared seeing someone wind up good on anything smaller. remeber, those make good little projectiles.

Metal parts are usually rated at WLL, not yeild, so 9500lbs sounds ok for general recovery. I carry some 10,000 pounders and a couple 20K if something looks real stuck or I'm using the snach block w/ my winch.

I am still looking for heavier duty shackles for the BIG emergencies. Anyone have a source?

There were 2 1.25" shackles on ebay the other day. They went for $22.00! And I forgot to bid. ARRGGGHHH.

These will be used for standard stuff but pulling that Ferd out of the canyon made me consider HD, safety, and all that under loads that caused my xd9000i to stall /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
