BUddy of mine has a 50' 40k stap he bought from Kennedy Wire Rope. Not sure if they're local or nation wide... but you might wanna search that company. I have a 40k x 18' from them. Not as long, by any means, but it gets the job done.

rockstomper is pretty good, and prices are way reasonable. I found that they tend to "shread'" under intense load, rather than snap suddenly like keeper straps.

I got a surplus military strap - 1 3/4" x 60' for 20 bucks on ebay /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It was used for military aircraft stuff. Dark green with the yellow stripe - anyone familiar with that?

Lighter weight (12,000lb) but it will allow me to reach out and touch someone.

    Looking for a 3"x30' now.

best strap i ever had was a "sling" used to move heavy steel around by craine on construction sites. it was about 1/2" thick, 30 feet long, and 25 pounds. it never broke. it replaced it because it was not long enough and it was impossible to roll up for storage. now i carry one 15' and one 60'. if you know anybody that does work on sky scrapers or somthing maybe they could hook you up.

I am going to get tree-savers and snatch blocks from here:
    http://www.rnventions.com/index_files/page0009.htm

I don't like their tow ropes but the package deal is probably the best deal....

How about ropes? They seem to stretch a lot more, which can be good and bad. Anyone here prefer ropes for recovery?
