What are some remakes you think are better than the original? I'm mainly thinking music, but hey maybe movies or something.

At this second my thought is Nonpoint's version of "In The Air Tonight". Its on the new "Miami Vice" soundtrack, and you can hear it in one of the commercials for the movie. I love the song. Granted I like Phil Collins version, but I think Nonpoint's is better myself.

    So anything to list?

I want to see a remake of IT, with Captain Spaulding as the clown. That would scare me sillier than Can Can.

Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt, by NIN.

Movies, bad boys II comes to mind.....but maybe just as good as the first.

Music, anyone else HATE the rascal flatts version of "Life is a highway" for cars? I love disney, but they really screwed that one up. The tom petty version rocks!

Ok, I am sick of hearing that. Johnny's version was powerful, but personally, NIN's doing the song sounded RIGHT. Johnny's version, just didn't have that to me.

I think Stevie Ray Vaughan did a slightly better version of Voodoo Chile, and that's saying something, IMHO. Although, he also had better than a decade to learn how to do it better...

Hendrix's version of All Along the Watchtower spanked Dylan's.
Nirvana, with The Man Who Sold the World.

I'm not a Ramones fan, but a few years back I picked up a tribute album, "We're a Happy Family," and every song on there was better than the Ramones could have ever done.

Pat Travers "Boom boom out go the lights" was better than blues man Little Walter Jacobs version.

I have only heard a few covers that I like better than the origionals. And, I've always held these truths to be self evident that no one (not even Stevie Ray) can do a Hendrix song better than the guitar god himself. I generally felt the same about the Beatles too until I heard Soundgarden cover Come Together. Unreal!

I actually liked the Aerosmith version better. But then again, I have never been a big Beatles fan.....

I concur. To Me the Beatles sucked and were way way over rated. They didn't hold a candle to the Stones not then and sure as hell not now.
