Remote Starter Solenoid??

    Has anyone the part# for a remote solenoid....or is it the standard For* model?Anyone have details on installing one in my K/5?Thanks

    It is just a standard ford part. Just make up a application (ie a 79 F250). You have to also get a copper strip to jump between the 2 posts on the starter.

    hey, i got mine from summit and mounted it on the passenger side fender. it works great. i also put in dual 1200cca batteries. these will make hot starting problems obscelete

    I sourced my own parts and spent more than what Summitt charges for the kit...[​IMG]

    Thanks for the "klicky"!!,and the advice! I was looking at the wiring diagram and thought about eliminating the neutral safety switch, thereby be able to start the truck in gear.This might be useful when my Q jet bogs down.Whatcha think?

    If you have a column shift, this won't work. Later models (TBI trucks) don't even use an electrical nuetral safety switch. The ignition linkage is setup so that the key will only turn in P or N. You may be able to rig something at the top of the column, though, or you could use a seperate starter button.
