I have a 77 K5 Blazer and I was wandering if the fiberglass tops are interchangeable between years. Found a top in great condition from a 85 Blazer that is wrecked. Also, can a np 208 transfer case be put in place of a np 203 without any major changes

I'm 99% sure the tops are the same from 76 to 91. I don't know about the transfer case though.

Replacing the 203 with a 208 will take major changes, you'll need the adapter housing to go from trans to 208, and a new output shaft in the transmission. Not a friendly swap. You'd be better off finding the right trans, unless you're good inside the tranny, or have a buddy/shop that is.

If the 208 is comming off the same wrecked K5 as the top get the tranny. it will be a 700R4 with over drive and hell the truck was driving when it got wrecked so it should be good. Get the crossmember and drive shafts as well. Then your mostly a quick bolt in. There however is a problem with the shfter in your 77. Will not have the right spacing for the 700 with OD. While the 85 steering colum will bolt in your going to have some wiring issues to deal with. Alternative 2 and the easist is put the shifter in park and knock the pin out of the arm. Get an aftermarket floor shifter.

It's not my damn planet monkey boy!
