Removing a leaf from Rough Country 4\" Front springs?

I have heard that several people on here have done this to soften the ride. My questions:
    1) Is it safe
    2) Which leaf do you remove?
    3) Will the new set up compare with the the e-z ride of tuff countries?
    4) Am I just being cheap and should just buy a set of 4" TC's?

BTW I will be running 57" ford springs in the rear and want the front to be as soft.

    Thanks.

I have the 4" RC as well. I removed the bottem 2 leaves and put in a zero rate. I think it is too soft now. I put in the zero rate hoping to raise it, but the back was higher. I am going to put the bottem leave back and see how that does. /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

Did you try just taking the bottom 1 leaf out first? I wonder if this would work.

No I just took them both out at once. I did read somewhere that the shorter ones are stiffer than the longer ones.

I took out the shortest bottom leaf. Rides good now. I lost a little of the lift, but gained it back when I installed the Dana 60 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

How much lift did you lose after removing the bottom leaf?

I have the 6" and have been thinking about doing this myself.
