    Rene just called me, and he just made it home with the 83 C1500. He's gonna be posting up his road trip story somethime this evening. I just thought some of you would appreciate a little update. :thumb:

    Yup, a little chilly inside the truck without a heater...but other than that it was an uneventful trip home. 23.6 mpg average through nothing but twisty, steep mountain roads... :woot:

    If I had been able to go the other way home I'm sure it would have been closer to 25 mpg.

    That thing has gotta have a V6, otherwise you better be careful, or the gas companies will steal your super-carb :D

    6.2, 700R-4 and 3.42's... :p:

    I know 25 is possible with this truck. FWIW, to the imperial gallon that was 28.4 mpg which is a hair better than our Montana with 3.4 V-6.

    Ahh, shoulda known that was a 6.2 :D Them are definitely good mileage getters :D
