I am swapping a Silverado Interior into the 76. The lower carpet panels, just behind the doors, Have no cardboard left on them. the carpet alone seems to flimsy. What else can I use? besides wood!

Try and trace out the origanl on panel wood or thick cardboard. Or to your local interior shop and ask for the carpet backing board. Hope this helps?

What about that plastic "board" stuff? Some of it looks like plastic cardboard, and some of it is two plastic layers with foam sandwiched between. I think either of those would be ideal..probably a better insulator than cardboard, won't rot out, and is definitely stronger.
