Are the reports that it is too dark for children correct?

It's a little darker than the others, a lot of betrayal, sabotage, and dirty deeds, but I think if a kid has his/her head screwed on straight it's not too bad. It's a little more graphic than the others as well.

I made the mistake last night of getting there three people in line too late, sold out, crap, now I've gotta go tonight. :D

EDIT: Went to the matinee today, great movie, but I honestly wouldn't take kids to it.

It was awsome!. Great closure. But one thing bugs me, if they had the tecnology to fix darth vader's charred ass why couldnt they do a C-section on Padame or something? She was too hot to die. I liked how much more graphic it was. Now, I cant wait for the rated R series, Steven King's "Gunslinger." They have to make a movie about it and if they do every single one of them will be rated R. Thats just me though.

    1) Vader has the resources of the Emporer/republic to work on him...

    2) Padme had lost her will to live... no amount of technology can fix that.

in any case, good movie. Not as good as ESB... but better than I, II, and 6 for sure.

AFA kids go, I wouldnt take a 7 year old... but I would take a 10 year old. Some people say it aint graphic... but it is pretty nasty in a couple of spots. I don't wanna give anything away in spoilers or anything, but its nastier than any other SW flick thats for sure. Its a very emotional/sad movie overall... there were some tears flowin' in the showing I was in.

Finally got to see it yesterday, it was an awsome movie. The special effects just flat out kicked ass.
Now I can't wait for the day when I can sit down and watch the compleat series all in one day, instead of 27 years.

saw it yesterday as well. I can't fully decide. Not my favorite but I didn't think it horrible. As soon as Padme died I thought, "she lost her will to live, she was dieing before the birthing." It was true, Vader killed her. Some of the acting was a little lackluster. Especially between Anakin and Padme. I thought anyway.

I think all in all it was a good movie. I really wasn't a fan of the ending but it had to go that way. The only thing that I think really sucked was the voice of Vader at the end. It sounded like a pre-puberty teenager trying to get out of that helmet.

I would rank it as the 2nd best out of all 6 movies.

There were tons of kids at the mantinee I went to. Probably 8 and up I would say.

I would take my 21month old son. But then he wouldn't know any better, and probably would only sit still for about 10minutes. :D

When we meet vader in the later episodes he is in his middle ages. Where as here he is young. The voice was still James Earl-Jones, I didn't see anything wrong with it.

I went and seen it tonight with some friends. This movie kicks arse. The effects are some of the best I've ever seen. Loved how they explained everything and tied it into the original.

I went to see it on tuesday, I thought it was a great movie but some bad acting by Samuel L. and some others. If you go to watch it again pay attention to the star cruiser when Vader and Sith lord are looking at the death star being built. All of the ships during the movie have high tech controls, but they throw in some old school like it was straight out of Star Wars. Overall great movie:D
