Ok....I'm gonna come right out and tell ya'll this is not on my blazer. This is on my wifes 96 Plymouth Neon (Which I hate with all of my heart, but she likes it).

Anyway, her reverse light has a short, it's an automatic, when you shift to Reverse her backup lights will not come on. Sometimes if you shake the shifter they will fliker on and on a good day you can hold the shifter in the right spot and get light for a couple of seconds. Does anybody know where the short could be coming from? Or how hard it would be to fix it? Or is this something I should take to a mechanic or the dealer. I know one day she's gonna end up getting hit while backing out of a parking spot because they don't work. Any help is appreciated.

It could also be a faulty actuator switch........
