Would there be any benefit or disadvantage to running the revolver shackles straight off of the ORD shackle flip?

i read a reveiw on it at off-road.com and it sied to run with the ORD shackle flip. thet stated that u need a shackle flip like that to have it work right. so my gusse would be to use the ORD flipp.

Well as it gose it gose and under it rolls heavey rubber bouncing on a head.

Yep, as stated above, it only works with the ORD rear flip.

Street driving with the Revolvers is fine but I am getting a little sway but I don't have a sway bar up front so I'm not sure if it's from the Revolvers or not. They never open up on the street even if I were to brake hard. Eventually, I'm going to lock down the Revolvers by putting a removeable piece of plate so they won't open unless I remove the plate. Another thing I noticed is some axle wrap on heavy acceleration. The metal plate should take care of this. There's an article on http://www.off-road.com/chevy.

What about when you're getting air-time at the dunes?? Good idea to have that plate on there like you describe, Shawn! Can you see those things slamming open, then slamming closed on landing! OUCH!!!

Yeah, I don't think the Revolvers were made to be Jumped with. Locked down, you should be ok. I'd like to see a destructive test on a jump but I'm not going to volunteer... I thought Steve mentioned the other day he wanted to jump his K5 30 ft in the air. [IMG]

I phoned Metal Made Rite (revolver shackle maker for Jeeps) about a year ago and asked him if he would "do" a plate style lock down device for a set of revolvers for my CJ, and he said he was not interested!! So much for listening to your customer base and trying to satisfy their needs/wants!!

It would so easy for them to make the plates and longer bolts which could easily sell as an option. DUH! You would think they would want to make $$$ but I guess not. Maybe Teraflex will.
