I have a 77 GMC Jimmy project I have been working on for the past year. I put a 4" lift on it with 35x12.5 15"rims on it. The rims that are on it now (while truck is at the body shop) are only 8" rims (temp). The question I have is do I go with 15x10 or 15x12" rims for my daily wheels?
This truck will only be driven on the road to and from the mountains, not on a daily basis. I will only be using the truck for off road use, 4wd roads, no serious rock crawlin' and little or no muddin'. (we are in a drought here in Colorado!) I have plenty of HP to turn the BFG MUDDERS, a 205 transfercase
    and 3.73 gears.
Advice from those who have these wheel sizes will help.

I'd go with a 15x10" wheel. Most tire manufacturers approve their 12.50" tires for that size wheel. It will also cause the sidewall to bulge a little and protect the bead of the wheel.

I would run a 10" wide wheel for a 35x12.50 for street use.

Go with 10" wide for street driving. Stay with 8" wide for offroad use, and rockcrawling. The narrower the rim, the harder it is to pop a bead.
